In Iraq they drive in convoy to Mosul, where the devastation after years of conflict is still great. Jasper and Floortje wonder what will happen to the animals in a city where there has been so much fighting. In the old zoo of Mosul, Floortje hears the story about bear Lula and lion Simba, who were rescued from the war-torn city in 2017. In the south of Iraq, Floortje and Jasper visit the special swamp area and its inhabitants.

Episode 3 - Iraqi Kurdistan

During this long and adventurous journey over land, they record how people and animals live together. They continue through Turkey towards the border with Iraqi-Kurdistan. Just before they cross that border, they visit Hasan. He gives disabled animals a new chance. Once they have arrived in Iraqi Kurdistan, Floortje and Jasper see how dogs are used to clear land mines. In a refugee camp they meet the Syrian Ayas, who cares about the animals that live there.

Episode 2 - Turkey

He shares his home with countless animals.
